Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a Brit-American sitarist as well as a music producer. She won the British House of Commons' Shield, which is the youngest and the first female to receive it. Alongside nine Grammy nominations and nine Grammy nominations, she also became the first Indian-born musician to perform during the ceremony live. Anoushka is the new star on the rise in Indian sitar. She is a student and child of Ravi Shankar. She was born 1982 in London. Her early years were spent between London in London and New Delhi. In New Delhi, she made her debut at just thirteen years old. In Encinitas California in 1999, she was awarded an honorary high school degree. Anouskha was only a teenager, has had an extremely successful recording and performing career. Her father was with her to numerous performances over several years. She's performed at many famous venues around the globe. Anoushka isn't only a singer. In 2002, she released an autobiography titled Bapi The of My Life. of My Live this is an illustrated biography that is a respect to her dad Ravi Shankar. The year 2003 saw her appeared as a character in Dance Like a Man as an actress and Bharat Natyam dancer. Anoushka Shankar is an emerging celebrity and her popularity is expected to continue growing. Anoushka Shakar, born in England lived the majority of her time between London Delhi. After moving to California she finished high school. In Delhi at his 75thbirthday celebration Anoushka first made an appearance playing the sitar in front of the audience just four years after her 9-year-old father. Anoushka performed with her father during his world tour, gained an incredible quantity of knowledge. When she was in her teens, she played at Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD as well as recorded with George Harrison. She was the youngest woman to be awarded the House of Commons Shield, given by the British Parliament in recognition of her musical talent and artistic ability within music and the Asian Arts.
